Brian W. Thompson joined Jackson & Campbell in 2014. He is a member of the Firmís Real Estate and Asset Management Group and the Trust and Estates Group. He is a former chair of the Firm's Associate Task Force. In 2017, he was elevated to the position of Director. His practice focuses primarily on real estate litigation in Maryland and the District of Columbia, with an emphasis on title and contractual issues. Brian is an active litigation attorney, having been lead counsel in cases before the Superior Court of the District of Columbia; the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland; the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia; and the Special Court of Appeals, Maryland.
Prior to joining Jackson & Campbell, Brian spent nine years as an attorney focused on real estate matters, including transactions and litigation. He also devoted significant time to real estate settlements and the resolutions of title issues.
Brian received his J.D. from Tulane University Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was a member of the Tulane Inn of Court. He received his B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Brian is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and Maryland State Bar Association. He was elected to serve as a member of the Steering Committee of the Real Estate Housing and Land Use Section of the D.C. Bar in 2012, and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Real Estate, Housing and Land Use Section. Brian was elected to Board of Directors for the DC Land Title Association in 2014, and is currently the Associationís Treasurer and President-Elect. He was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star 2016.
