Recognized by Washingtonian magazine as one of the leading hospital and professional liability defense attorneys in the Washington region, Nick McConnell has over 45 years of courtroom experience, including retention as counsel for the area’s major hospitals and health care systems to defend complex, high exposure cases. He has served as lead defense counsel in hundreds of cases involving claims for professional malpractice, products and premises liability, libel and defamation, antitrust and restraint of trade, employment discrimination, education disciplinary proceedings and breach of contract claims, and general contract and commercial matters.
Nick is a member of the Health Law, General Litigation & Trial Practice, and Professional Responsibility Practice Groups. He is a former President, former member of the firm’s Executive Committee, and former Chair of Health Law Practice Group. He is an elected Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers with a substantial number of significant cases tried to jury verdict. Nick has long held an AV® Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest awarded through a rigorous peer review process, for both competence and ethics. He was selected as a “Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers Magazine (2006-present).
